March 28 I AM Carola
Lifestyle
[ I AM NOT A HESITANT OR DOUBTFUL PERSON AND I HARDLY EVER ASK OTHER PEOPLE FOR ADVISE. BUT SOMETIMES I CHERISH MY BOYFRIEND'S OPINION - EVEN IF I THEN DECIDE TO DO THE OPPOSITE. ]
Carola Seher got her foot into fashion industry's door after finishing business school. She was in charge of social media for an online retailer before starting up her own PR agency in Berlin, C. Seher Public Relations

It's hard not to be enchanted by Carola. She is a great communicator - a quality that seems essential for every professional working with many different people every day, but her delicacy, interest and warmth come down so naturally that they just make people want to be around her.

Carola's style was immensely influenced by Milan - the city she happened to live in for a while. One can easily notice that with her feminine, playful outfits and elegant attitude.

We photographed Carola in her beautiful apartment in Mitte and asked her a few questions.

What is your (secret) weird habit?

Being a real food snob but ordering ketchup with way too many things!

How do you start your day?

I get up at 7ish and start making some tea (usually fresh ginger & lemon) and then I get on my yoga mat and start the day with a few asanas. It sounds really disciplined but I am actually just doing it to prevent back pain. I always always have breakfast! Usually porridge or cereals with fresh fruit. Then I shower, brush teeth and try not to spend more than five minutes on my make-up.

One fashion trend you would never try?

Probably anything that exposes my belly. I am not into trends anyways. I like to be informed and on top of it but I never really buy any trendy items. Probably an age thing.

Thing №1 on your wish list right now?

A month of vacation – either in Brazil or Israel. And this really expensive one-shoulder swimsuit that I could wear with my cut-off denim shorts and a giant straw hat.

Your guilty pleasures?

Oysters and Champagne are my guilty pleasure. And I like to go on a weekend trip to Paris with my favorite girlfriends and just party like it’s the early 2000s!

What is the best and the most difficult part of your job?

The best thing is getting to meet all those interesting, smart and strong women and working really closely with the product. I love that! For me, the administrative part is difficult. I am so bad with accounting. It bores me to death!

You have 5 minutes to get dressed. What would you wear?

Always the same thing: A double-breasted blazer (I love pinstripes right now!) with my favorite jeans and a cool pair of heels. Some RMS highlighter, red lipstick and a big smile – et voilà!

Would you rather cook dinner or eat out? What’s your signature dish on the kitchen?

I enjoy both! I love cooking when I have the time – it has a very relaxing effect on me. But it starts with good preparation and a proper grocery shopping spree. So in most cases I am just heading over to my favorite Italian place with my boyfriend and enjoy some organic food from the South of Italy. My signature dish? Pasta with oven-roasted pumpkin and fried sage.

The last thing that made you laugh?

My sister and my best male friend from home always make me laugh really hard and really loud. They are also the two people that I’ve known for the longest time. And my boyfriend when he is NOT trying to be funny.

When in doubt, what helps you make a final decision?

I am not a hesitant or doubtful person and I rarely ever ask other people for advice. But sometimes I cherish my boyfriend’s opinion – even if I then decide to do the opposite ;-).
