Stella von Senger is a makeup artist, a contributing editor at hey-woman.com, a young mom, and a style star of her own Instagram (side note: we think her immense mane of red locks deserves a separate account).

After pursuing her passions for life and career across the globe with the main stops in Paris, New York and Los Angeles, Stella is now back to her native Berlin to focus on family and creative projects that get her interested.

We love the effortless mix of classy and cool in her style. But there is way more than just that. It's her confidence to stay true to herself and simply enjoy it that come primary. Here, Stella’s answers to our questions explain many things.

What is your (secret) weird habit?

I have a million weird habits and I am not sure any of them are secret. Sometimes I use several face masks a day. I don’t brush my hair until I basically have dreadlocks. I wash my hair just to freshly put in half a bottle of oil right after. I can only wear a sleeping shirt once. Therefore, I mainly sleep naked. Coffee tastes better when from a to go cup. To trick myself I now have a ceramic to go cup, so I am not environmentally unconscious. I eat a croissant every single morning. I like to wear my summer clothes in winter and vice versa.

How do you start your day?

I get woken up by my one and a half year old son. I make him breakfast and myself coffee at the same time. I brush my teeth, if I make it to the shower before I drop him off at Kindergarten it’s a miracle. Otherwise I wear my pyjama and uggboots for my croissant pick-up and dropping him off ride. If I’m wearing a Fendi Baguette instead I know it’s going to be a glamorous day. I miss the let’s-stay-in-bed-all-day mornings, but they’ll come back once my kid is older.

Your guilty pleasures?

It takes a lot of pleasure before I feel guilty. I eat a lot of pizza and ice scream, I watch way too much shitty Netflix for my own good, I get too many massage says my bank account but honestly, I never feel guilty, I just enjoy.

Do you have a daily go-to look?

God forbid I don’t look good aka stylish every day. My go-to looks are very often either too funky or super boring. I enjoy dressing like shit. I recently bought moonboots and I can’t wait to wear them. I wear thermo underwear to be warm and forget to add an extra top to hide it. So I end up with a yellow thermo cashmere shirt with red stars on it back from when I was twelve. My outfits often turn out best when I have about one and a half minutes to get dressed. But other days they look like absolute shit and the moment I'm on the streets I'm hoping no one I don’t really know sees me thinking why does she or anyone thinks she’s got style (which by the way I am not sure of anyway).

How did your style change since becoming a mom, if ever?

It didn’t. Except for way more stains on my clothes. I wear white pants while feeding my baby just because I refuse to give up on any style freedom as a mother.

In what kind of relationship are you in with your hair?

I love my hair but except for dying it once in a while as I look like white trash six weeks into my last hair dresser appointment I can't care less about it. My hair ends are possibly ten years or more old, which in hair years is probably a hundred. They probably hate my guts. I don’t brush them, I never style them. All I give hoping they will love me someday, is a lot of oil. And ok, I wash my hair with amazing green products, like John Masters Organics or Yarok.

What the title to your autobiography would be?

Best case scenario, Stella von Senger: Style icon. Realistically speaking, Stella von Senger: Lion hair, baby hands.

The last thing that made you laugh?

Thinking of the title of my autobiography. I would love to tell you all of my husband and I’s suggestions. But let’s be honest: they might give you a wrong impression. And my husband (who is an actor) channeling a 45 year old white gay man he calls Jörg. One of his most beloved stereotype characters (he just added this sentence right this minute).

Which tune gets you in the perfect mood on set?

Charles Bradley (Good to be back home or Changes); Benjamin Dean Wilson, this guy from the South of the States, who has never done music but recorded an album at home, got a record deal in Germany and is now celebrated by Rolling Stone Magazine. Hurray For The Riff Raff (My Sweet Lord), Pete Rodriquez (I Like It Like That), Louie Ramirez (Ali Baba).

One beauty rule you swear by?

Always wash your face before going to bed.
